Short-Term Accommodation

  • NDIS funded respite home.

  • Caters for young people aged 5 – 25 years.

  • 24 Hour support

We are excited to announce that we are opening a NDIS registered STA (respite) home in Griffin, Moreton Bay, on October 16th, 2023! This home has capacity for up to 4 people at any one time, included the ability to create a 1:1 STA unit for those who are still learning social skills, or require a quiet space for respite.

Thrive House is registered for both Core and Capacity Building supports, giving you flexibility to utilise the funds you deem reasonable and necessary for our services.

We understand that school holidays can be difficult for families to navigate due to work and commitments life brings. For this reason, our respite home will be made available for school aged children and young adults during this time.

Outside of School Holidays, Thrive House respite will be open for people aged 5 years – 25 years of age.

We will carefully navigate availabilities for respite depending on current bookings, and would like to ensure that the people accessing respite at any one time have similar interests, skill sets and goals.

We understand not everyone with these similarities will get along, but we want to ensure that those using our services have a great time and work actively towards our goals.

People will be supported by qualified staff with blue cards, yellow cards and LCS checks in our home. We have capacity to provide support to those with complex needs including meal time management, enteral feeding, seizure management, behaviours of concern and manual handling. Our home is wheelchair accessible, of course, and we provide staff support 24/7, including sleep-over and active awake staff.

Ratios will be determined based on allied health recommendations and information obtained on intake. It will also depend on the number of people also attending respite during this time.

We cater for groups of up to 4 young people, meaning your child or young adult can organise sleep-overs with others from their school or social networks. Sleep-overs are an important part of growing up, as they teach young people to adapt their routine to the needs of the house in an environment, which promotes social skills and problem-solving.

To be eligible for our service, you will need documentation from an allied health professional and/or medical professional outlining your care needs and medication supports.

We are taking expressions of interest now, and are looking forward to hearing from you.
